The Weekly Geek 36
Merry Christmas, nerds. Here's a short list of stuff I'm geeking out about.
What I'm reading: Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey. I started watching the first season of The Expanse a while back and really enjoyed it, but had no idea it was based on this particular book series even though I've seen it come up consistently in sci-fi recommendations. No spoilers: Leviathan Wakes starts off squarely in the hard science fiction category, but a plot point about midway through the book seems to shift its genre, and I'm not sure how I feel about the change in direction. Regardless, the hard-boiled detective and heroic freighter captain who serve as protagonists are fun to follow through a politically complex colonized solar system on the brink of war.
Comics I'm reading: Mighty Morphin and Power Rangers. Boom! Studio's ongoing series imagine the Power Rangers as your six-year-old brain remembers them: completely awesome without the low-production value cheese.
What I'm posing: This Putty Patroller Lightning Collection Power Rangers figure I received for Christmas because I am, in fact, six years old.
What I'm thinking about: My 2020 Past Year Review, as suggested by Tim Ferriss, to categorize the most "positive" and "negative" aspects of the year and improve outcomes for 2021.
