The Weekly Geek
Aaaaaand we're back! Sorry I've been out of the game for a hot second. Lost my mojo for a bit. But I'm back now. The Weekly Geek may be moving to a once or a twice a month schedule as I'm busy writing Bobby Robot 2.0. Anyway, here's a short list of stuff I'm geeking out about this week.
Onward: Pixar's first non-sequel film since 2017's Coco follows a teen elf and his brash older brother as they try to finish a spell to bring back their father for a day. Once again, Pixar proves it can pull at your heartstrings this time by serving up a story of fatherly-and-brotherly love.
Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter: Booktuber Merphy Napier highly recommended this book in the YA fantasy genre. The story follows Tau in a world where one in every two-thousand women has the power to call down dragons and one in every one-hundred men has the power to transform himself into a colossal warrior. The book throws you right into a war without explaining much, though it does ground you with the love of two characters right at the beginning, so if you can hang for a minute with not knowing much, it gets pretty interesting.
Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution: This updated remake of Pokemon the First Movie is just as cheesy as its 1998 original, but man is it pretty nostalgic. Visuals are pretty cool too.
That's it for this week!
